North West England house prices edged higher again in June 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. The average price reached £219,922.
That is up 0.4% on the month and 4.7% higher than a year earlier. The monthly rise is modest, but it keeps the region on a steady upward path.
North West England’s private rental market continued to edge higher in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average rent reached £965, up from £961 in June.
That was a monthly rise of 0.39%. The annual picture remains firm.
North West England has a resident population of 7.72 million, so these labour-market figures relate to a very large and diverse regional economy. The latest ONS and Nomis data show an employment rate of 74.7%, with unemployment at 5.0% and economic inactivity at 21.3%.
