Salford’s latest UK House Price Index reading for April 2026 puts the average home at £232,391. That is a rise of 2.8% on the month.
It is also a fall of 2.9% compared with April 2025.
Salford’s average private rent stood at £1,162 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was unchanged from April, so the month-on-month movement was flat.
Even so, the latest index reading edged higher, which shows the market is still moving upwards, just at a very modest pace.
Salford’s latest ONS/Nomis labour market profile and ASHE earnings data show a city with a sizeable workforce and pay levels that sit below the Great Britain average. The resident population was 294,348 in 2024, giving useful context for the scale of the local labour market.
