The UK House Price Index shows that the average UK home was priced at £272,188 in June 2026. That is a small monthly rise of 0.1%, which suggests prices are still edging up, but only gradually.
On an annual basis, values were 2.0% higher than a year earlier.
Private rents in the United Kingdom continued to edge higher in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average monthly rent reached £1,393.
That is up from £1,388 in June, a month-on-month rise of 0.4%.
