South Ribble’s average house price stood at £206,485 in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is down 2.7% on March, when the average was £212,249.
So the market saw a clear monthly dip after a stronger spring reading.
South Ribble’s average monthly private rent was £793 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is £3 more than in April, so rents rose by 0.4% month on month.
The latest figure also puts the area £42 above the same month last year, which means annual growth was 5.5%.
South Ribble had a resident population of 116,113 in 2024. That gives useful context for the local labour market.
It is a sizeable area, but still one where the headline ONS and Nomis measures can move around from year to year.
