Burnley’s housing market picked up pace in June 2026. The latest UK House Price Index puts the average price at £134,515.
That is up 4.6% on the month and 9.9% higher than a year earlier. The June figure is also a clear jump from May, when the average price was £128,639.
Burnley’s private rented sector continued to edge upwards in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average rent reached £628 a month.
That is up from £625 in June, so rents rose by £3 month on month. The annual picture is still positive, but the pace has eased.
Burnley’s latest ONS/Nomis labour-market profile, alongside ASHE resident earnings, points to a local earnings picture that remains below the Great Britain average. The city had a resident population of 100,946 in 2025, giving the labour-market figures a useful population context.
