Wirral’s average house price stood at £215,575 in June 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. That is almost unchanged from May, when the average was £215,705.
The monthly movement was a small fall of 0.1%, so the market has cooled slightly after a steadier spring. The annual picture is much stronger.
Wirral’s latest ONS Price Index of Private Rents reading for July 2026 shows an average monthly rent of £852. That is up from £845 in June, so rents rose by £7 month on month.
Wirral had a resident population of 329,896 in 2025, according to ONS and Nomis labour market data. That gives useful context for the local housing market, because it points to a sizeable resident base rather than a small commuter settlement.
