Preston’s latest UK House Price Index figures show an average house price of £187,709 in June 2026. That is up 2.1% on the month and 12.4% higher than a year ago.
It marks a stronger phase for the city market after a softer May, when prices dipped 1.3% month on month.
Preston’s private rent market kept edging higher in July 2026. The ONS Price Index of Private Rents shows the average monthly rent at £788.
That is up from £786 in June, a monthly increase of 0.3%. It is also £46 higher than a year earlier, when the average stood at £742.
Preston’s latest ONS/Nomis labour-market profile and ASHE earnings data show a city with a large working-age base and a pay level that sits a little below the Great Britain average.
