Wyre’s average house price reached £193,024 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is up 2.2% over the month and 6.0% higher than a year earlier.
Prices are now above the level seen in June 2025, when the average was £182,026, and the market has recovered strongly after a softer spring.
Wyre’s average private rent stood at £737 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was up £5 on the month, or 0.6%, and £46 higher than a year earlier, which leaves annual growth at 6.6%.
Wyre’s latest ONS and Nomis labour-market picture points to a large local population and a working pattern that is slightly weaker than the GB average on several measures. The resident population stood at 120,528 in 2025, giving the area a sizeable local base of households and workers.
