Hyndburn market commentary
What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Hyndburn’s latest UK House Price Index figures show an average house price of £138,818 in June 2026. That is slightly down on May, when the average stood at £139,048.
The monthly move was -0.2%, so prices eased back a little after a small rise the month before. The wider picture is stronger.
Hyndburn’s average private rent stood at £645 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was up from £642 in June, a monthly rise of 0.45%.
Over the year, rents were 3.83% higher than in July 2025, when the average was £621.
Hyndburn had a resident population of 86,908 in 2025, so the local labour market sits within a relatively compact base. That matters when reading the numbers, because ONS and Nomis labour-market estimates can move around more in smaller areas than they do for Great Britain as a whole.
