Millbay Boulevard Social Housing Development
Plymouth Community Homes is delivering 135 affordable homes at Bath Street West within the Millbay regeneration area. The latest verified milestone is the 14 April 2026 announcement that construction had begun on the first 80 social-rent homes after contracts were signed on 31 March and the council transferred the land during March. The first phase is a mix of flats and houses and was estimated for completion in early 2029. No newer official construction milestone was located by 31 August 2026, so the April start remains the current verified position.

Plymouth and South Devon Freeport
The Plymouth and South Devon Freeport is a strategic economic programme operating across three primary tax sites: South Yard in Devonport, Langage near Plympton, and Sherford. The initiative focuses on delivering essential infrastructure and employment space to support high-value sectors including marine, defence, space, and advanced manufacturing. Recent progress includes the completion of purpose-built employment units at Beaumont Way, Langage, and the progression of innovation units at South Yard, supported by government seed capital and planning grants.

Plymouth Civic Centre Regeneration
The Plymouth Civic Centre regeneration project has entered its primary enabling phase following the formal appointment of Morgan Sindall to deliver a £6.49 million contract. Approved by the City Council in late August 2026, this initial stage involves the installation of extensive scaffolding, removal of external cladding, asbestos clearance, and demolition of the 1970s extension. The wider £50 million redevelopment, led by Capital&Centric, will transform the Grade II-listed landmark into 144 build-to-rent apartments and a new Blue-Green Skills Hub for City College Plymouth, supported by significant public funding including an £18.4 million grant from Homes England.
