Stocking Farm Estate Redevelopment
The Stocking Farm Estate Redevelopment in north-west Leicester has progressed into the delivery phase following the appointment of Clegg Construction as the main contractor for the £18.8 million project. The scheme aims to revitalise the area by delivering 50 energy-efficient family council homes and 22 supported living apartments, including the conversion of a locally-listed 19th-century farmhouse. The project also incorporates new community facilities, improved public realm infrastructure, and a new link road connecting Marwood Road to Packwood Road.
Leicester Railway Station Gateway
The Leicester Railway Station Gateway project has received a significant funding boost following government approval to reallocate £9.95 million from the St Margaret's junction scheme, bringing the total Levelling Up Fund backing to £27.5 million. This investment aims to revitalise the Grade II-listed station with a new public plaza, reconfigured concourse, and restored historic frontage. While the project faces scrutiny from local opposition councillors regarding value for money, the council is moving forward with plans to appoint a development partner in 2027.
