Cathedral Quarter Transformation

A major long-term regeneration project aimed at transforming the heart of Wakefield city centre, including the site of The Ridings Shopping Centre. The scheme focuses on creating a vibrant mixed-use district with new homes, public green spaces, leisure, hospitality, and cultural facilities to replace outdated retail infrastructure. The project is being delivered in partnership with Muse and is expected to span 10 to 15 years, with phased development starting following the formal approval by the Council Cabinet in March 2026.
