What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Harlow’s latest UK House Price Index reading shows an average house price of £313,338 in June 2026. That is up 0.8% on May, when the average was £310,831.
It is also 1.7% higher than a year earlier, so values are still ahead of June 2025, when the average stood at £308,195.
Harlow’s average private rent stood at £1,518 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was up by £1 from June, so the month-on-month movement was very small.
The latest ONS private rent statistics therefore point to a market that is still rising, but only gently at present.
Harlow’s latest ONS/Nomis labour-market picture shows a resident population of 98,543, based on the 2025 estimate. That gives useful context for the scale of the local labour market.
