Exeter’s average house price stood at £287,013 in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is down 0.2% on the month, from £287,657 in March.
It also leaves prices 2.4% below the same month last year, when the average was £294,007.
Exeter’s average private rent stood at £1,314 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is up by £1 from April, a monthly increase of 0.1%.
The annual rise was 1.8%, which means rents were £22 higher than a year earlier.
Exeter’s latest ONS/Nomis labour market profile shows a strong local employment picture, set against a relatively large resident base of 138,399 people in 2024.
