Worthing market commentary
What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Worthing’s latest UK House Price Index figure shows the average home at £296,227 in June 2026. That is a modest monthly fall of 0.9%.
It also leaves prices 5.1% lower than a year earlier. The short-term picture has softened further after May’s £299,018 average.
Worthing’s latest ONS Price Index of Private Rents shows an average monthly rent of £1,303 in July 2026. That is down slightly from £1,306 in June.
The month-on-month movement was a fall of 0.26%, so rents eased rather than accelerated in the latest reading. The annual picture is much flatter.
Worthing has a resident population of 113,844, according to the 2025 ONS-based estimate used in the labour profile. That gives the local earnings and labour-market figures useful context for the scale of the town’s housing demand, but not a direct read-across to property values or rents.
