Stoke-on-Trent’s average house price stood at £148,799 in June 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. That is down 1.7% from May, when the average was £151,319.
It is also 2.9% higher than a year earlier, so prices remain above their June 2025 level.
Stoke-on-Trent’s private rent market continued to edge higher in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The city’s average monthly rent reached £711.
That is up from £707 in June, a month-on-month rise of 0.5%. The annual picture is also firmer.
Stoke-on-Trent’s latest ONS/Nomis labour-market profile points to a city with a large resident base and a pay level below the Great Britain average. The resident population was 272,282 in 2025.
That matters because local earnings and employment conditions are being spread across a sizeable urban market, not a small commuter settlement.
