Stafford’s average house price stood at £263,329 in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is up 1.3% from March, when the average was £259,987.
Over the year, prices were 5.1% higher than in April 2025, showing that values are still moving upwards.
Stafford’s private rent market continued to edge higher in May 2026. The latest ONS Price Index of Private Rents shows the average monthly rent at £891.
That was up from £888 in April. The month-on-month rise was 0.4%, so the pace of growth remained modest rather than sharp.
The annual picture is still firmer.
Stafford’s latest ONS and Nomis labour-market profile points to a relatively solid earnings and employment picture. The city had a resident population of 141,556 in 2024, giving the labour market a meaningful local base.
