Rother’s average house price in the latest UK House Price Index was £343,870 in June 2026. That is down 0.4% from May, when the average stood at £345,375.
The market has eased a little in the latest month, but values remain well above the level seen a year ago.
Rother’s latest private rent figure from the ONS Price Index of Private Rents shows an average monthly rent of £1,166 in July 2026. That is unchanged from June, so the market was broadly stable month on month.
The index did edge up, with a monthly rise of 0.03%, but the cash average remained flat.
Rother’s latest ONS/Nomis labour market profile gives a picture of relatively strong local employment, but with pay still below the Great Britain average. The resident population was 96,150 in 2025, so these figures relate to a sizeable local base of workers and households.
