North Tyneside’s average house price stood at £197,229 in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is up 1.4% on March, when the average was £194,447.
It also leaves prices 1.0% higher than a year earlier. The latest monthly rise is a clear recovery from the weaker start to the year.
North Tyneside’s private rental market continued to edge upwards in May 2026, according to the latest ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average monthly rent reached £838.
That was up from £834 in April, a monthly rise of £4 or 0.5%. It also sat well above the £795 recorded in May 2025.
North Tyneside has a resident population of 215,025, based on the 2024 estimate used alongside the latest labour data. That gives useful scale when thinking about the local affordability context.
