North East Derbyshire house prices continued to rise in April 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. The average price reached £250,089.
That is up 3.0% on the month and 6.1% higher than a year earlier. This is a stronger position than in March 2026, when the average price was £242,795.
North East Derbyshire’s average private rent was £774 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was unchanged from April, so the latest month shows stability rather than a sharp move.
Over the year, however, rents were still higher.
North East Derbyshire had a resident population of 106,646 in 2024. That gives useful context for the local labour market, because the earnings and employment picture comes from a relatively modest-sized area rather than a large city-wide economy.
On the latest ONS and Nomis figures, the employment rate for residents was 75.9%.
