The UK House Price Index shows that the average home on the Isle of Wight was priced at £240,998 in June 2026. That was up 0.5% on the month and 1.1% higher than a year earlier.
ONS private rent statistics for the Isle of Wight show that the average monthly rent reached £950 in July 2026. That is up £2 from June, so the month-on-month move was modest.
The ONS Price Index of Private Rents for the island also edged higher, rising to 124.8. The annual picture is much stronger.
Isle of Wight’s latest ONS and Nomis labour-market profile shows a resident population of 140,777 in 2025. That scale matters for local housing context because a smaller island economy can have a different earnings and employment mix from the national average, even before any property-market factors are considered.
