Ipswich house prices edged up in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. The average home price stood at £215,893.
That was up 0.9% on March, when the average was £213,905. It is a modest monthly rise, but it does show a change in direction after recent weakness.
Ipswich’s average private rent reached £989 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is up from £986 in April.
The monthly rise was modest at 0.2%, but it still extends a steady run of increases. The annual picture remains firmer.
Ipswich had a resident population of 140,274 in 2024. That gives useful scale for the local labour market.
