What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Herefordshire’s average house price stood at £288,434 in April 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. That is up 1.9% on March, when the average price was £282,984.
It also means values are 5.6% higher than a year earlier, compared with £273,092 in April 2025.
Herefordshire’s private rental market edged up again in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average rent was £809.
That was unchanged from April, but the index still rose by 0.03% on the month.
Herefordshire’s latest ONS and Nomis labour-market profile points to a fairly strong local jobs picture, but with pay below the Great Britain average. The resident population was 191,047 in 2024, so this is a relatively small labour market.
