Hackney’s average house price stood at £605,442 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That was down 0.3% on the month, after a 0.7% fall in May.
The latest reading suggests prices have edged lower again, but only slightly. On an annual basis, Hackney is now 0.4% higher than a year ago.
Hackney’s average monthly rent was £2,644 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was up by £9 from June’s £2,635, a month-on-month rise of 0.33%.
Rents were also 3.18% higher than in July 2025, when the average stood at £2,563.
Hackney’s labour market profile points to a relatively well-paid resident base. According to ONS/Nomis data for Apr 2025 to Mar 2026, the borough’s resident median weekly pay is £959.30.
That is well above the Great Britain median of £766.60. On an annualised basis, resident median pay is £49,884, compared with £39,863 nationally.
