What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Greenwich’s average house price stood at £465,132 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is a small fall of 0.3% from May, when the average was £466,312.
It also leaves prices 0.5% lower than in June 2025, so the market is slightly weaker than a year ago.
Greenwich’s average private rent reached £1,980 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is up by £13 from June’s £1,967.
It means rents rose by 0.7% over the month. The annual rate was 5.6%, so rents were £104 higher than a year earlier, when the average stood at £1,876.
Greenwich’s latest ONS and Nomis labour-market profile points to a large and active local workforce. The resident population is 301,225, which gives the borough a substantial base of working-age households and a sizeable pool of potential buyers and renters.
