City of London market commentary
What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
The latest UK House Price Index for the City of London shows an average house price of £612,427 in April 2026. That is a small rise of 1.3% from March, when the average was £604,656.
It is the first monthly increase after a sharp fall in the previous month.
The latest ONS/Nomis labour-market profile and ASHE 2025 earnings data show that the City of London has a very small resident base. The resident population was 15,111 in 2024.
That matters because a small population can make local labour-market measures more volatile, and some indicators are not published at this geography.
