Chichester’s average house price was £427,112 in April 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. That was virtually unchanged from March, when the average stood at £427,224.
The monthly movement was 0.0%, so prices were flat over the latest month. The yearly picture is still softer.
Chichester’s private rental market continued to edge higher in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average rent reached £1,325 a month.
That was up from £1,322 in April, so the monthly rise was modest at 0.2%. The annual picture remains one of steady inflation rather than sharp acceleration.
Chichester’s latest ONS/Nomis labour market profile shows a comparatively strong local jobs picture. The employment rate for residents was 84.9% in Jan 2025 to Dec 2025, well above the Great Britain average of 75.5%.
The unemployment rate was 3.0%, below the national 4.5%.
