Chichester’s average house price stood at £429,978 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That is down 0.9% from May, when the average was £433,881.
Over the year, prices were also lower, by 2.3% compared with June 2025. The latest reading shows a market that has softened over the short term.
Chichester’s latest ONS Price Index of Private Rents shows an average monthly rent of £1,328 in July 2026. That is up slightly from £1,326 in June, a monthly rise of 0.15%.
The annual rate was 2.77%, just below June’s 2.78%. The clearest takeaway is that rents are still edging up, but the pace has eased.
Chichester’s labour market profile points to a relatively strong local earnings and employment picture, based on the latest ONS and Nomis data. The city had a resident population of 130,224 in 2025.
