Central Bedfordshire’s average house price was £356,453 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That left values unchanged on the month, after a small fall of 1.2% in May.
The latest reading also shows annual growth of 2.9%. So prices are still moving higher over the year, but the pace is modest.
Central Bedfordshire’s average private rent stood at £1,249 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was almost unchanged from June, edging down by 0.03% month on month, or by £1.
The annual picture is still positive, but the pace has slowed.
Central Bedfordshire’s labour market looks stronger than the Great Britain average on the latest ONS/Nomis figures. The resident population was 321,605 in 2025, giving the area a sizeable workforce and household base to support local demand for homes and services.
Resident median full-time pay is also above the national figure.
