Cambridge house prices edged higher in June 2026, according to the latest UK House Price Index. The average price reached £471,098.
That was up 0.6% on the month, extending May’s 0.5% rise. The annual picture is still slightly negative.
Prices were 1.2% lower than a year earlier.
Cambridge rents edged higher again in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. The average monthly rent reached £1,806.
That was up from £1,804 in June, a rise of 0.1% month on month. It was also 1.9% higher than a year earlier, when the average stood at £1,773.
Cambridge continues to stand out on the latest ONS/Nomis labour-market profile and ASHE earnings data. The city’s resident population was 149,872 in 2025, which gives these figures some useful context.
It is a relatively small labour market, but one with a strong earnings base and high employment levels.
