What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Bromley’s latest UK House Price Index figures put the average home price at £520,379 in April 2026. That is up 1.6% on March, when the average was £512,297.
It is also slightly above April 2025, with annual growth of 0.4%.
Bromley’s average private rent stood at £1,675 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That was up £2 from April, so the month-on-month move was modest at 0.1%.
Over the year, rents were up 3.1%, which shows growth has continued but at a slower pace than it did last summer.
Bromley’s labour market picture is strong in the latest ONS and Nomis data, with earnings also well above the Great Britain average. The borough’s resident population was 335,319 in 2024, which gives useful context for a large local labour market and a sizeable pool of working-age households.
