What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Brent’s average house price stood at £547,995 in April 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That was up 0.9% on the month, or £4,830 more than March.
It is a modest rise, but it does show some short-term stabilisation after a weaker start to the year. The annual picture is still softer.
Brent’s average private rent stood at £2,005 in May 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is up from £1,990 in April, so rents rose by 0.8% month on month.

Brent’s labour market profile for Jan 2025 to Dec 2025, using ONS Annual Population Survey data shown by Nomis and ASHE resident earnings, points to a large and active local workforce. The borough’s resident population was 352,976 in 2024.
