Bexley market commentary
What the latest official data may mean for buyers, renters and investors.
Bexley’s average house price stood at £405,477 in June 2026, according to the UK House Price Index. That was slightly lower than May, when the average was £406,613.
The monthly change was -0.3%, so prices eased back modestly rather than falling sharply. The annual picture is still positive, but growth has slowed.
Bexley’s average private rent stood at £1,534 in July 2026, according to the ONS Price Index of Private Rents. That is up by £3 on the month, a 0.2% rise.
It also leaves rents 1.5% higher than a year earlier, showing that annual growth has cooled sharply from earlier in the year.
Bexley’s latest ONS/Nomis labour market profile, alongside ASHE earnings data, shows a relatively strong resident earnings picture for a London-area place, but also some clear labour market pressure points.
